University of Akureyri

Students! We welcome thee...

Since its establishment in 1987, this university has proved itself to be one of the best in the whole of Iceland. The university is famous for the quality of its education, both on campus and outside. With a mixture of 1:1 education, group work and research, this academy is well known for its media and graphic design studies as well as its faculty of Business and scientists. Well, all our scientists had to come from somewhere! The University has 450 students studying through distance education and the first masters’ degree students were proud to graduate in the year 2000. The school is also proud to accept exchange students from the Nordplus, Erasmus and North2North programs, as well as on a person by person basis- fantastic for students who want a change of pace. Thinking caps on people!
