Hjörtur Scheving

Tennis pro Hjörtur Scheving a.k.a. The Web Hero was born in Iceland in 1973. From an early age his parents knew that he was destined for greatness and soon realised his nimble fingers would not only be the tools he needed to create ‘Planet Iceland’ but would also be the fingers that would clutch the fabled ‘golden racket’ winning him the silver medal in the 30+ category of the Icelandic Outdoor Tennis Tournament in 2009. Hjortur was in fact, so awesome during this competition- he was the first man to play a doubles tournament with no partner.
The Icelandic sages say the source of Hjörtur’s greatness was due to being dipped in magical Icelandic spring water at birth. True to this rumour, he ages slower than human men, and can still easily pass for 29. About 5 years ago, Hjörtur decided to put his powers to good use and began to fight crime in his spare time. Unlike other superheroes, Hjörtur uses his programming skills to create excellent web pages that distract villains long enough for him to imprison them, using his racquet of fury. Since then, criminals have become virtually non-existent in Reykjavik- The Web Hero was born.
Sigursteinn Baldursson

Steini ‘The stone’ Baldursson was working as an Icelandic tour guide when, ontop of an ancient mountain, Thor the Viking god of Thunder appeared to him in a vision, giving him the incredible brainwave that was the Planet Iceland concept. An explorer at heart, his many achievements include riding his bicycle from Alaska all the way down North America without once stopping for a hotdog. Not much else is known about Steini, he has an air of mystery surrounding him, but what we do know is that he has an exceptional talent for stunning photography, he works like a vampire (always at night) and he has a catlike intelligence that drives us crazy. What else could you want from the eyes of Planet Iceland?

From an early age, Stevie knew she was special. To this day we don’t know if it is her stunning good looks that make her so appealing, or her sharp wit, or the fact that she is writing her own bio. What we do know is this British born starlet has a flair for writing and has been promoting Iceland for the last three years, as a Television Producer for CCP Games, a Journalist for the Reykjavik Grapevine and now here, as the voice of Planet Iceland. A former child actor and model, she collects Superman merchandise, enjoys Star Trek and plays guitar. Stevie currently enjoys long walks on the beach, needlepoint and espionage. Saucy.
